Channel 416: Yorkville & A City’s Story: Toronto

Monday, Feb 6 2017

As Canada prepares to mark its sesquicentennial, CHANNEL 416 travels back to 1967 to see how our TV cameras recorded Toronto during the Centennial year with two rare shows in living colour. First, the dichotomy of Yorkville is examined: chic and refined by day, home to Toronto's countercultural revolution by night. From the boutiques and galleries to the coffeehouses and clubs, visit the legendary Yorkville of the sixties, a haven for the hip and the haute couture. Next, it's a beautiful visual essay on Toronto, a dialogue-free montage of the sights and sounds of our city fifty years ago.
