Peter Andrew Lusztyk: Collectibles
June - July 2019 | The Gallery

Presented by Taglialatella Gallery, Peter’s photography focuses on taking ordinary objects and turning them into new and interesting visual entities. He focuses on collectible items, specifically on currency and postage. For the “Collectibles” show, he showcases these objects but with a Canadian context. With his currency and stamp series, Peter elevates how the viewer looks at the physicality of coins and postage, and explores how these unlikely, commonplace objects provoke nostalgia and celebrate the history of Canada, simultaneously.

Danilo Ursini | Ritratti February 2019 - ongoing | The 4th Floor What flows from the hand is extremely imaginative, oneiric and flirts with the subconscious, giving life to curious, obscure and extravagant works. His paintings are immediately recognizable, highly structured with a heavy brush that is both decisive and free. Subtle tribute to the classic technique. ursiniart@gmail.com www.ursiniart.com

Reka Nyari | Valkyrie Ink April 2019 - May 2019 | The Gallery In collaboration with Coldstream Fine Art, we are thrilled to present Valkyrie Ink, an exhibition from Reka Nyari, whose black-and-white photography has been widely recognized for its bold yet elegant treatment of the feminine form. Valkyrie Ink follows Geisha Ink, a series of work also focusing on a young woman defiantly clad in tattoos, but introduces Eowyn and her story of trauma and recovery. Eowyn’s difficult journey is elegized through her skin, which is marked not only by tattoos but also through scars—all sediments, deliberate or not, of a personal history.

Benny Bing | Women Of Colour March 2019 | The Gallery In this collection, Benny brings forth the concept of ‘colour’ taking its definition and symbolic range to connect his painted subjects to a diverse audience. In a time increasingly focused on political correctness, these pieces allow us to celebrate and express cultural individuality through universal attitudes and aesthetic appeal. While identifying culturally, he became enamoured with the visual impact of each pattern and a textiles’ ability to enhance and reflect the wearer; inspiring him to present a series focusing on inner strength, self-identity and the confidence that yields to an organic and true essence of beauty. Benny Bing is a self-taught Toronto based artist of Nigerian descent. His passion for portraiture illuminated through the use of complimenting acrylic hues has built him a great following. His ability to capture the emotion on each of his subjects faces shines through in each piece. His cool reoccurring color palate has built great depth in distinguishing his brand. Benny has shown in major solo shows and several group exhibitions, alongside artists such as Fucci, Sandra Chevrier and Pure Evil, and has also been featured at major art fairs in Toronto and Miami. BennyBing has produced commissions for Dave Chappelle, The Weeknd and Milos Raonic. His works are currently housed at The Norman Rockwell Museum in Massachusetts, The Bartholomew Condominiums, Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment Headquarters in Toronto and can be found in private collections worldwide. Burton Kramer | Lyrical Abstraction Nov - Dec 2018 Burton is perhaps one of Canada’s most important designers. He paved the way for the ‘International Style’ to reach Canadian shores when he moved to Toronto in 1965. His work for Expo ’67 and identity work for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation are celebrated icons of Canadian design. He’s won numerous awards for his design work including receiving The Order of Ontario and also being one of the first Canadians to become a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). In 2001 Burton decided to shift his attention to painting, which still retain the hallmarks of his fascination with geometric forms. Source: heythere.ca
